I’ve built and renovated many homes in my day and would recommend Colonial Countertops to my closest family and friends. If you want a countertop fabricated and installed properly, they’re your go-to.

As a small business owner, I have had the pleasure of working with this team for over 20 years. They are detail-oriented and always go the extra mile to help me provide timely service to some of the largest property management firms in Greater Victoria. I highly recommend the fine folks at Colonial!

FAQs

How long does the whole process take?

For quartz and stone countertops, the process typically takes 1–2 weeks to template, with drawings ready within 48 hours of your appointment.

Fabrication and installation follow 2–3 weeks after approval, provided your material is in stock.
Laminate countertops have a faster turnaround.
Custom colours may require additional supplier lead time.

Colonial Countertops serves Vancouver, Burnaby, Victoria, Kelowna, Abbotsford, Nanaimo, Courtenay, and Calgary.

Can I see the actual quartz slab before ordering?

Yes – For natural stone, you can visit any of our showrooms to view the physical slab before committing.

For quartz countertops, we provide samples in our showroom plus photo overlays showing exactly how the veining will look on your specific kitchen or bathroom layout.

This ensures you’re completely confident before fabrication begins.

Do I need to seal?

Quartz countertops do not require sealing, making them one of the lowest-maintenance options available.

Porcelain countertops also require no sealing.

For natural stone surfaces like granite and marble, we apply 3 coats of sealer at installation and recommend annual resealing as part of routine care to keep them looking their best.

Can I put hot pans on my countertop?

We recommend always using trivets regardless of your countertop material.

Quartz and laminate countertops can be damaged by direct heat exposure.

If heat resistance is a priority for your kitchen, porcelain and granite countertops offer the best performance among the materials we carry.

Where will the seams be on my countertops/surfaces?

Seam placement is carefully determined during the templating and fabrication process to minimise visibility and maintain structural integrity.

Our experienced team works to place seams in the least noticeable locations — typically away from high-traffic areas and focal points.

We’ll walk you through the seam plan before fabrication begins so there are no surprises.

Do you supply and install sinks with countertops?

Yes — Colonial Countertops sells and installs sinks and faucets alongside your countertop project.

For stone and quartz countertops, undermount sinks are the most popular choice and give a seamless, easy-to-clean look.

For laminate countertops, drop-in sinks are the available option as undermount is not compatible with laminate.

Where are you located?

Colonial Countertops has 8 showroom locations across BC and Alberta: Vancouver, Burnaby, Victoria, Kelowna, Abbotsford, Nanaimo, Courtenay, and Calgary.

Each location offers expert consultations, material samples, and full countertop fabrication and installation services.
